Deep Processing of Tea

Tea is the dominant resource in China, and the rise of tea beverage industry has promoted the industrialization step of tea deep processing. The turbidity of tea beverage is one of the technical problems in the production of tea beverage. Most of the reasons which cause turbidity are related to the complexation flocculation of tea polyphenole substances, caffeine, soluble protein, pectin and other substances in tea soup. The traditional separation and extraction methods mainly include mechanical filtration, high speed centrifugation and chemical treatment, but the clarification effect and the product quality are poor. Integrated membrane separation technology which regards inorganic ceramic membrane separation technology as the basis solves these problems: when the macromolecular protein pectin is removed by the ceramic ultrafiltration membrane in tea soup, tea polyphenols, caffeine, amino acids, catechins and other effective ingredients have been maximally preserved, which guarantees the flavor and stability of tea beverages; the clarified tea juice adopts the reverse osmosis membrane concentration, which replace the traditional evaporation and concentration process.

Process characteristics

    

  •     High filtration precision, high filtrate clarity, good stability, the "cream down" phenomenon which is solved;
  •    There are less losses in tea polyphenols, caffeine, amino acids and other effective ingredients, and product purity can be improved;
  •    No need to add medicament, no pollution, no residue, a green environmental technology;
  •    Compared with the organic ultrafiltration membrane, the ceramic ultrafiltration membrane can be cleaned by strong acid base oxidation reagents, whose PH value from 0 to 14, and it can be cleaned and regenerated completely with a long service life;
  •    The filtration process only uses pressure as the power of membrane separation with simple separation devices, easy operation and easy control of process parameters;
  •    Simplified process, short process and greatly shortened production cycle;
  •    The ceramic membrane has high pollution resistance, low requirement for tea juice pretreatment, and it can maintain high throughput filtration for a long time;
  •    Ceramic membrane elements are resistant to high temperature and they can be sterilized by steam and oxidant;
  •    The content of impurity protein, tannin and pectin in filtrate is greatly reduced, so that the membrane fouling in the subsequent reverse osmosis membrane concentration is reduced, and the throughput is increased, and the cleaning cycle and service life are prolonged;
  •    The film diameter is asymmetrical and it can be washed online reversely;
  • The matching reverse osmosis concentration process has no phase change process at normal temperature, which avoids the disadvantages of high energy consumption, large flavor loss, high product viscosity and easy backmixing of the traditional evaporation and concentration process
