GE Membrane

GE’s spiral wound membrane elements cross the spectrum of membrane including reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), ultrafiltration (UF), and microfiltration (MF). Originally designed for water desalination, spiral wound membranes are now used in a variety of applications including in the dairy industry, in manufacturing products, for high purity water and at high temperature and extreme pH conditions. GE offers membranes that are designed to meet the customers’ needs in each unique situation.

We offer pure water, industrial process and sanitary, food & beverage membranes.

Operate at high efficiency with purified water from virtually any source

GE spiral wound membrane elements purify water for drinking water, boiler feedwater, seawater desalination, rinse water, and water reuse. These highly efficient membranes produce high-quality product water from virtually any source including surface water, tap water, well water or seawater.

For steam turbine applications, the development of modern, high-efficiency steam turbines has led to an increase in deposition, erosion, and corrosion problems. Close tolerances in the turbines, the use of high-strength steels, and impure steam all contribute to these conditions. Maximize performance and protect assets using GE's High Rejection AG-HR Series membranes.

Pure Water Membranes Features

World-class spiral wound membranes and state-of-the-art depth filtration products create unprecedented performance and protection. When used in combination with the ROSave.Z depth filter with patented Z.Plex* technology, you have outstanding protection for your pure water elements. Using GE filters in combination with GE membranes assures that membrane equipment will operate at optimum performance and provide you with:

  • Improved operations
  • Better environmental compliance
  • Increased water reuse
  • Lower maintenance costs

Lower operating costs with condensate recovery and higher water reuse

As an industrial customer, you are always trying to reduce water and energy costs, improve process efficiency, and meet stringent discharge limitations. Industrial membranes from GE can help you:

  • Reduce salinity and chemical oxygen demand (COD)
  • Purify oily effluents
  • Remove chemical contaminants
  • Recover acid streams
  • Clean-up hot condensates
  • Pre-concentrate streams prior to evaporator
  • Reduce wastewater volumes by increasing water reuse

Industrial Membrane Features

GE custom designs membrane elements to operate effectively in challenging environments, including extreme pHs, temperatures from 40° to 158° Fahrenheit (5° to 70° Celsius), oil contaminated streams and highly viscous solutions.

This provides many benefits including:

  • Recovery of valuable products
  • Recycling of acid and caustic solutions
  • Reduced equipment downtime
  • Improved energy efficiency
  • Lower operating costs
  • Reuse of process water

Reduce product loss, keep costs low, and boost your yield with advanced membranes

Whatever the need, GE has a full line of nanofiltration, microfiltration, and ultrafiltration membranes to allow:

  • Dairy producers to turn cheese whey into a valuable product
  • Starch processors to purify glucose at a high temperature and pressure
  • Wine makers to enhance color and flavor while eliminating the use and disposal of diatomaceous earth
  • Food processors to increase protein concentration while minimizing product losses
  • Pharmaceutical companies to demineralize and concentrate antibiotics
  • Blister-Free Sanitary Membranes for dairy producers

Sanitary, Food & Beverage Membranes

GE filtration membranes protect your product quality and brand image, while ensuring increased product safety. GE’s sanitary, food, and beverage membrane technologies meet your regulatory requirements such as:

  • United States Food & Drug Administration 21CFR 175, 176, 177, 178 and 182
  • European Framework 1935/2004/EC and Plastics Regulation 10/2011
  • BSE/TSE guidance
  • Absence of Melamin and Cyanuric acid
